Happiest Birthday Ever

Happy Thursday!!!!  One day while our daughter was here after the wedding we took some time to play with Brushos.  This card started with one of the papers from that play time.  Over the brushos background I've stenciled and stamped with Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 products (stencil, stamps, Archival inks).  Around the edges of the main panel I've used Distress Paint brushed pewter.  The butterfly is the Tim Holtz die and embossing folder combo.  I cut and embossed it, tapped over the high parts with an embossing pad and embossed with Wendy's embossing powder violet.  Next I sprayed on a few different Distress Spray Stains and a little Dylusions ink spray.. dried it... added some shading on embossed areas with a Sharpie markers (the center and the tips of the wings).. and finally sprayed the butterfly with Perfect Pearls Mist.

I dwell in Possibility

"I dwell in Possibility"... a new stamp from Quietfire Design and I love the way Suzanne has penned it!!!!  I had to do something fun with it!!!

I started with watercolor paper, stood it up and sprayed on Dylusions ink spray in lemon zest and bubblegum pink.  I also sprayed on a little water to help things run and mix.  After this was dry and flat, I stamped the quote with Archival Ink jet black and then added Studio 490 Wendy Vecchi black embossing paste through the Studio 490 stencil, From The Garden.  I attached this to a folded white card and sketched a black line around the panel using a Pitt pen.

I'm entering this in Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge - Stamp + Mist.

Wedding Guest Book

Hello Friends!!!  I know, it's been awhile.  June has been very busy.  Our oldest son got married on the 13th.  There was lots to do before the wedding and then we had company after the wedding.  It was a wonderful time.  I've added just a few pics from that day at the end of this post.

I was honored to make the guest book for their wedding and wanted to share that with you. I began with book board, gessoing it so it was white instead of grey.  I crumpled tissue wrap and glued it on using matte medium being sure to keep lots of wrinkles.  Once dry, it was painted with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paint in chalk and when that was dry I glazed over it with Golden Glaze bright purple dabbing rather than rubbing it away to get a really nice variation of color.  The edges are inked with Wendy's Archival Ink color hydrangea.  I added Treasure Gold in silver, heavy on the very edges of the board and then very lightly over all the wrinkles.  The holes for the rings were punched using a Crop-A-Dile.  I printed their names onto white cardstock, cut them out with the Sizzix Tim Holtz die baroque, stamped the heart and greenery, and inked the edges.  This is layered on the front with other die cuts, some dyed crinkle ribbon, and an Idea-ology key.  The numbers are cut with the Sizzix Tim Holtz die typeset.

The inside pages are white cardstock.  To reinforce the edge that would be punched, I painted and stamped copy paper, cut it into strips, folded the strips in half, and glued them around the edge.  The front of each page is stamped with a scripture in the lower right corner.  Pockets were created to attach to the inside of the front and back covers.  I put an engagement picture in the front pocket and, after the wedding, a wedding picture was put in the back pocket.  They now have a book filled with notes from family and friends that were able to share in their day!!!
